Built For Learning
Learning Environments:
The ideal learning environment to me is a classroom that can easily adjust to meet multiple student needs. For instance; The desks and chairs would all have padding for easy movement, and students may sit where they want, but will be moved if they cannot focus on their work. Student desks will be near the projector so they can see better, and the teacher desk would be in one of the corners. Desks will be in small groups of three or four to allow an opportunity for teamwork.
I think that classes should be around 35-40 minutes to allow adequate time for the teacher to instruct and for the students to at least start on their work. Personally, I wouldn't require homework unless absolutely necessary.
I would evaluate my students by taking participation grades, daily grades, and test grades. They would be allowed to redo any work for half the earned points back. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance.

What Would You Do?
What Would You Do?
Scenario
"You are at your EAT field site. Although you know you are supposed to have your phone put away at your field site, you check it and see that you have a message from another intern in your class. He said that he had an early dismissal and left the field site campus just a little early, but when he did, he forgot to sign out. You think this is a bit strange because you never saw him ride the bus to your field site in the first place, but you agree to sign him in and out because you want to let him know he can trust you. After all, Mrs. Meddlesome, your EAT teacher, stressed that it is important to establish relationships with your students and others with whom you work."
I would put my phone away and never actually sign them in or out. Then, once we return to the classroom, I would talk to my teacher about the incident after school. I feel strongly that acts like these are dangerous to the students and even the offender themselves. I wouldn't want to get involved with them, who knows what they were up to?

My Response: Does Spelling Count?
In this article, the author mentions that we should teach math and science by mixing it in with more favorable activities, such as cooking and building. I agree with his points deeply, because if we incorporate fun activities with learning and teaching, students will enjoy learning much more. Many students prefer to learn by participating or interacting with lessons, making this a wonderful solution.
